A 6-year-old boy was transferred to a highly complex clinic in Barranquilla, who suffered second-degree burns in different parts of the body, caused by contact with gasoline, in events that occurred in the municipality of Becerril, according to authorities.
It was also established that the mother of the minor reported that the events took place in the Sourdis neighborhood of said town, when the woman went out to carry out errands and left the child in the care of her brother. Inadvertently, the little boy started playing with fuel in his uncle’s motorcycle workshop and that is when the incident occurred.
When the adults realized what had happened, they took the child to the local hospital, where he was referred to Codazzi and then to the High Complexity clinic in Valledupar, but due to his seriousness he was transferred to the capital of Atlántico.
The authorities are investigating the case to have greater clarity on how it happened.
