“Once the ‘declaration moment’ is over, talking about the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, once we enter the discussion stage, a good meeting point can be found.” This was said by the mayor of Monza Paolo Pilotto (Pd), following the declarations of the deputy prime minister Matteo Salvini on the new ministerial directive on the 30 km/h limit.
According to Pilotto, the controversy is destined to die out “when we move on from the ideological reading that remains stuck between the supporters of 30 or 50 per hour – he continued – and if the minister’s intention is to deal with those who manage the mobility of city, let’s think about the traffic offices or ATM, which we know what manages between Milan and the hinterland, together with its consultants”.
Pilotto announced that in Monza, in a few months, the first trials of a 30 km/h limit in some neighborhoods will begin.
