Colombian Navy seized 200 tons of cement

During the development of joint operations between units of the Colombian Navy and the National Army, more than 50 thousand gallons of fuel and 200 tons of cement were seized in the Caribbean, which were transported in different vehicles and vessels, and which are valued at approximately 900 million pesos.

These seizures occurred on the roads of the municipalities of Achí – Bolívar, Gamarra – Cesar, Nechí – Antioquia and Quibdó – Chocó, and on the Atrato, Cauca and Magdalena rivers, during inspection work, in which after verifying the requirements established, the documents required by law were not presented. This is in accordance with resolution No. 0001 of January 8, 2015, which determines the regulations on the control of substances and chemical products that can be used for the extraction, transformation and refining of illicit drugs or illegal mining.

These results directly affect the capacity of organizations serving transnational crime, since it is presumed that these supplies would be used to produce and traffic illegal substances outside the country.

During the development of these operations there were no captures. The seized material was made available to the competent authority.
