Aosta Valley Alpine Rescue and Sagf at work to recover two mountaineers in difficulty

The Valle d’Aosta Alpine Rescue is engaged tonight in a recovery intervention of two mountaineers on the Dente del Gigante.

The two found themselves in difficulty during the descent and asked for help. The intervention of the helicopter, however, is complicated by the strong gusts of wind and the clouds at high altitude that make it impossible for the moment to approach.

Even on the French side, the weather conditions prevent the helicopter from intervening in the area.

The Sav technicians together with the Sagf financiers are trying to reach the two mountaineers by land to understand their conditions and better evaluate the recovery options.

Update

One of the two climbers was recovered by helicopter by French rescuers thanks to a clearing. The man was injured in a fall. The climbing partner, unharmed, is stuck on the face for now.
