Covid-19, vaccinations for tourism workers since June

Companies will be able to activate vaccination points in the workplace

AOSTA. Workers in the Aosta Valley tourism sector will be able to be vaccinated against Covid-19 starting from June. This was communicated by the regional councilor for health, Roberto Barmasse, discussing an interpellation of the Lega VdA in the regional council in view of the summer season.

“In the tourism, hospitality and catering sector, the most penalized by the closures, seasonal workers are employed, often under 30 years of age and therefore not yet covered by the vaccination campaign at the beginning of the summer”, highlighted the councilor Northern League Simone Perron illustrating the interpellation.

“The councilor – Barmasse replied – is preparing a draft resolution of the guidelines for vaccination in the workplace in the region, which we shared today with the trade associations and which we will adopt by the end of May to be active within the first fortnight of June. The deed provides that companies and trade associations can activate extraordinary vaccination points in the workplace by submitting a business plan to adhere to the vaccination campaign to the Local Health Authority ».

The costs “will be entirely borne by the employer or the trade association,” the commissioner specified. «The supply of vaccines, administration devices (syringes and needles) and individual protection, training tools and tools for recording vaccinations performed will be borne by the Local Health Authority. Therefore, in this context, without prejudice to the availability of vaccines, it will be possible to vaccinate operators in the tourism, hospitality and catering sectors, their family members and cohabitants ».

The commissioner added that «on the indications of the Commissioner Figliuolo structure, it was not possible to start this procedure before June. After June 15 there will be no age restrictions and therefore companies will be able to have everyone vaccinated ».
