Covid: Argentina, new record day with 663 deaths

by admin

Almost 66 thousand since the beginning of the pandemic. High infections: 24,079

(ANSA) – BUENOS AIRES, 05 MAY – Argentina has recorded a new record of deaths for a single day related to the Covid-19 pandemic. In fact, from the latest report by the health authorities, it emerged that 663 deaths were recorded in the 24 hours just passed, for a general total from the beginning of the pandemic which had risen to 65,865.

High, albeit in the average of the last few weeks, the infections.

There were 24,079, and brought the balance to positive 3,071,496, of which 271,166 are active.

However, there is concern at the government level about the arrival of the cold season, especially since the flow of vaccines continues to be uncertain and not easily programmable.

Buenos Aires has so far focused on the use of Russian (Sputnik V), Chinese (Sinopharm) and Indian (Covishield licensed AstraZeneca) vaccines, but the supply continues to fall far short of needs. Also contributing to this relative crisis is the fact that the Covax system of the World Health Organization (WHO) is not working as it should.

Finally, the Argentine Public Observatory of Vaccinations has announced that the doses used so far have been 8,533,232, of which 7,364,147 for the immunization of people with one dose and 1,169,085 with both, while the vaccines distributed have been 10,757,071. (HANDLE).
