In one month the number of people without the coverage of the third dose has doubled: they reach over 4 million. While on the fourth dose front, the administrations are still proceeding slowly with a coverage of 31% for the immunocompromised and 14% for the over 80 and frail in the 60-79 age group. Meanwhile, 86.5% of the population over the age of 5 has completed the primary vaccination cycle. This is the picture of the anti-Covid vaccination according to the Gimbe Foundation updated on 25 May.

Yet, of these, 4 million could do so (equal to 8.5% of the audience with clear regional differences: from 4.8% in Abruzzo to 12.6% in Sicily) while the other 4.1 million cannot receive it. immediately as you have been healed for less than 120 days.
Without boosters especially teenagers and young people
“In less than a month – points out the president of the Gimbe Foundation Nino Cartabellotta – the people who are candidates to immediately receive the booster dose have more than doubled (from 1.83 million on April 28 to over 4 million on May 25) as they 120 days from the completion of the primary cycle or from healing after the primary cycle ». While on the one hand the number of people who have completed the primary vaccination cycle for over 4 months is growing, on the other hand the third doses proceed very slowly, with an average dropped to about 7 thousand administrations per day.
The most refractory to proceed with the third dose are adolescents in the 12-19 age group: over 1 million have not received the booster even if they can be re-vaccinated. This is followed by young people in the 20-29 age group. In this case, about 820 thousand have not taken the third dose, even though they can receive it.
