“As regards the project on the coverage of the Municipality – explains the Councilor for Urban Planning and Public Works, Silvia Leto -, the intervention is possible thanks to a contribution dedicated to local authorities for the final and executive planning costs, relating to interventions for the safety of the territory at hydrogeological risk, for the safety and energy efficiency of schools, public buildings and the heritage of local authorities as well as for investments in road safety. The contribution amounts to 16 thousand 500 euros for the definitive and executive design of the intervention. In addition, another contribution assigned to the Municipalities for the year 2021 was added to this contribution for the implementation of energy efficiency projects, sustainable territorial development, including interventions for the adaptation and safety of schools, public buildings. and municipal assets and in particular for the Municipalities referred to in Annex B of the same decree, including Cuorgnè, in this case the contribution is equal to 70 thousand euros “.

“I am satisfied with this important intervention which represents a first fundamental step and I hope that in the future the next administration will be able to extend and complete all the coverage” adds Leto.
As for the project that insists on the intersection via Torino and via Ivrea, in front of the main square of the city, known by everyone as Piazza d’Armi, it is the intervention of “Urban redevelopment of via Torino: Improvement of safety and redevelopment of the urban area of Piazza Martiri della Libertà “for an economic framework of 260 thousand euros, financed for 128 thousand euros with the Municipality’s own funds and for 132 thousand euros with a regional contribution.
“Unlike what was hypothesized in a very first idea of a roundabout – points out the referent for Urban Planning and Public Works -, the final solution involves the intelligent traffic light system with a raised platform at the intersection between via Torino and via Ivrea as well as a second raised platform in via Torino at the intersection of corso Dante and via Bergoglio. The two areas will be equipped with safe and illuminated pedestrian crossings, eliminating any architectural barriers. We have sent the project to the Region and we are awaiting a reply. Subsequently, it will be possible in the short term to proceed to the tender for the assignment of the works and to start them in the autumn ».
Silvia Leto therefore draws up an assessment of her legislature as councilor: “I feel very satisfied because despite the Covid period, which has put us to the test by significantly slowing down projects and works, we have managed to achieve and implement important objectives – he concludes -. From the municipal theater in via Brigate, from the project for the new Cena middle school to the massive interventions to the Salesians as well as countless small interventions throughout the territory, perhaps little publicized, but important. Finally, I hope that in the future we can continue on this path with other new interventions and to reap the fruits sown in these five years ».
