Dead ski mountaineer overwhelmed by an avalanche in Valpelline

The recognition operations entrusted to the Sagf of Cervinia

AOSTA. A ski mountaineer died overwhelmed by an avalanche this afternoon in the Valpelline, under the Nacamuli al col Collon refuge.

It was the victim’s partner who raised the alarm. The Valle d’Aosta Alpine Rescue and the Financial Police Alpine Rescue intervened around 3.45 pm at an altitude of 2,700 meters.

For the deceased ski mountaineer – whose personal details are not known for the moment – there was nothing to do. His body was brought to Aosta. The official recognition operations are entrusted to the Sagf of Cervinia.
