The beach soccer team once again demonstrated that it is at a superlative level, this afternoon beating Guatemala in the round of 16 of the World Cup, in the Bahamas.
Those led by Rudis Gallo thrashed the Guatemalans 7-2 and advanced to the quarterfinals of the beach soccer world cup.
Heber Ramos was in charge of opening the scoring for La Selecta de playa and Exon Perdomo made it 2-0 in the first period of the match.
In the second 15′, Guatemala threatened to react and discounted the score, but Jason Urbina scored to make it 3-1 and the Guatemalans responded with one more goal.
Óscar Cruz made his debut as a scorer in this competition and put the score 4-2 in favor of the beach warriors, giving a blow from which Guatemala could not recover.
In the third period, Exon Perdomo made it 5-2, Melvin Quinteros made it 6-2 and Heber Ramos made it 7-2.
To qualify for the world championship of the specialty, La Selecta de Playa only needs to beat the United States, in the quarterfinal match.
