Former President of the United States Donald Trump (2017-2021) said this Monday that he will be able to pay cash bail of $175 million for appeal for the sentence that sentenced him to pay 454 million dollars.
“I have a lot of cash,” the Republican candidate said at a news conference in New York, but later added that he would like to be able to use some of his money “to be chosen” in the upcoming presidential elections in November.
For weeks, Trump has tried to avoid paying this money and, the Republican presidential candidate’s lawyers indicated last week, Trump could not afford the bail.
This Monday, a New York appeals court authorized the magnate to pay a lower bail than that originally established in a civil fraud case and, on the other hand, the judge Juan Merchan announced that the criminal trial against the former president will begin on April 15.
