Double earthquake on the Madonie: fear from Castelbuono to Cefalù

CASTELBUONO (Palermo) – A double earthquake was recorded in the afternoon on the Madonie. The epicenter between 3 and 4 kilometers southwest of the town of Castelbuono. The first shock of 3.1 degrees on the Richter scale was recorded at 14.22, the second after 41 seconds was 2.6 degrees. The two tremors were recorded at depths of 6 and 9 kilometers. The earthquake, as well as in Castelbuono, was felt in Isnello, Gratteri, Collesano in Cefalù and again in San Mauro Castelverde, Pollina Petralia Soprana, Polizzi Generosa and Geraci Siculo. Fear for the residents, some people took to the streets, but no damage was reported.
