BELLUNO. About 800 people from Belluno suffer from chronic intestinal inflammatory diseases. Today, May 19, is the World Day of Chronic Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD), and the motto this year is “IBD has no age”.

It is also estimated that over the next ten years older people with chronic bowel disease will represent more than a third of all affected people. Today in ulss Dolomiti there are about 800 patients with exemption for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. But thanks to research, the therapeutic perspectives and treatments are constantly evolving, with an important increase in the quality of life, in all its phases.

The commitment of the Gastroenterology and Gastrointestinal Inflammatory Diseases departments of the Feltre hospital has always been aimed at actively involving the patient in the treatment process, increasing and promoting information », comments Andrea Buda, director of Feltre Gastroenterology. “Doctors and nurses have chosen to be promoters of the values ​​that are the basis of the activity of the AMICI Onlus Association and spokespersons for the rights and needs of people who live daily with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis”, concludes De Bona director of the Gastrointestinal Inflammatory Diseases Unit of the Feltre hospital.
