Electoral disputes: the Constitutional Court maintains CENI sanctions – Capsud.net

The high court ruled this Thursday on the case of the deputy candidates invalidated by the Electoral Center. According to the president of this large Congolese court, “ No appeal presented to the court was successful.

Thirty-five files were declared inadmissible, twenty-four declared admissible but unfounded, while four (4) were withdrawn.

Despite its decision consolidating that of the CENI, the Constitutional Court indicated that “the Independent National Electoral Commission is not competent to invalidate the competitors and that it can never do this again”.

It is worth recalling that more than eighty candidate deputies had been invalidated by the CENI for fraud, vandalism of electoral materials, possession of electronic voting devices.

These candidates include Gentiny Ngobila, Nsingi Pululu, Willy Bakonga, Evariste Boshap.

With this court ruling, the invalids must bury for a moment, or forever, their dream of sitting in the national assembly.
