The success and sustainability of the mega program of free basic education in the DRC set up by President Félix Tshisekedi has always been Tony Mwaba’s battle.

On Saturday, January 27, the head of the education sub-sector launched work to evaluate the roadmap of actions carried out by the provincial directorates of DINACOPE in the fourth quarter of last year.

In his opening remarks, the Minister of EPDT recalled the reason for free public primary education established by the President of the Republic, which is to give all Congolese children the chance to attend school. and moreover to have equal opportunities.

« The government of the Democratic Republic of Congo, through the Ministry of Primary, Secondary and Technical Education, has implemented a major reform. That of the effective implementation of free public primary education through the firm will of Mr. President of the Republic, Head of State, His Excellency Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, to whom I pay my most respectful tributes“, he said from the outset.

Then, Minister Tony Mwaba indicated the objective of this workshop which is to evaluate the roadmap and reminded the participants that no relaxation can be tolerated in the exercise of their functions.

« As you can see, no relaxation can be tolerated in the exercise of your duties. Reason why this roadmap evaluation workshop is organized for you in order to reassure yourself that the objectives assigned to you in the fourth quarter of 2023 will be achieved; which objectives achieved constitute an indicator of your performance« .

Recalling several innovations implemented by him in the management of teachers’ pay files, Professor Tony Mwaba Kazadi indicated that during this workshop, it will also be a question of evaluating the level of appropriation of all related actions.

The Minister concluded his speech by reminding the provincial directors of DINACOPE that at the end of this workshop, “it will be a question of assigning you new objectives within the framework of a new road map for the period from January to July 2024.”

Well before the Minister’s intervention, the Secretary General of the EPST Christine Nepa Nepa had delivered a welcome speech to the audience while thanking Minister Tony Mwaba Kazadi for his availability to support all the services of his ministry.

It should be noted that this evaluation work will take place from January 27 to 29, 2024.
