VEDELAGO. The tenth anniversary of the “International Jazz Day”, Promoted by Unesco: the day dedicated to projects and ideas that recall one of the greatest forms of artistic expression of the twentieth century, jazz, is back all over the world.
Thanks to a concert program in streaming, designed to promote the perfect combination of quality jazz music and the prestige of the Unesco offices in Italy, in the late afternoon of today 30 April you will be able to attend six performances which, starting at 18 on the page Facebook of the “Italia Jazz” association, will involve the whole boot.

Among the protagonists of the initiative, and the only ones represented for the Northeast, the Treviso cultural association nusica.org, which enthusiastically joined the IJD: the sound of Nicola Fazzini’s XYQuartet half Treviso and half Venetian (alto sax), Alessandro Fedrigo (electric bass) Saverio Tasca (vibraphone) and Luca Colussi (drums), together with the unmistakable voice-instrument of John De Leo, will bring a special edition of the project to Villa Emo (Fanzolo di Vedelago) “StraborDante”.
A musical journey in which the encounters, dialogues, suggestions and extraordinary inventions that populate the most evocative canticle of the Divine Comedy, Inferno, appear in a work that mixes jazz, rock and noise. On the occasion of the International Jazz Day and of “Unesco in musica”, the vision of StraborDante will come to life among the architectures of villa designed by Palladio; a path to discover, thanks also to the story of Federico Pupo, artistic director of Asolo Musica and ferryman for the occasion.
“StraborDante” is a project born during the artistic residence of the cultural association nusica.org, created with the Antonio Salieri Cultural Foundation in collaboration with Asolo Musica, at the Salieri Theater in Legnago (VR) as part of the project “A Casa Nostra – The rebirth of theaters for the citizens of Veneto”.
Transversal, open, full of moments of pure improvisation, noise and even rock sound, “StraborDante” travels through nine stages in the most known and loved work of the Florentine genius, in search of words and the darkest and most tormented passages of the antechamber supreme ecstasy of Dante, offered theatrically by De Leo and corroborated by the stylistic code of XY, a group that has been able to consolidate its fame beyond the borders of the Peninsula.
In addition to the original pieces of the quartet (“Oscura”, “Limbo”, “Pozzo dei Giganti” and “Canto Invisibile”), the reworking of music from the fourteenth century, to give an even more timeless atmosphere .
