MANZANO. Its name is inextricably intertwined with the recent history of Manzano and the “Triangle of the chair”. Alvise Passoni, owner of the homonymous company based in the Brava industrial area of ​​San Giovanni al Natisone, died on Saturday at the age of 68, but was born in the capital of the chair in 1948. The illness from which he was struck has aggravated his conditions in recent times days, until the sad ending.

The history of the family stems from the initiative of Luigi Passoni, the progenitor who opened the first laboratory in the hamlet of Case. Then the baton passed to his son Ermanno and, then, to his nephew Alvise, who in turn had been working side by side with his son Tommaso for some years. The news of the disappearance was a severe blow for all those who knew the entrepreneur, with dozens and dozens of messages of condolence sent to the family in the last few hours. «He was highly esteemed in the District – says his son Tommaso -, always highly liked and he respected everyone». His entry into the family business dates back to the late seventies and, in this capacity, “he lived more than 40 years in the Salone del Mobile, collaborating with designers from all over the world“. Also known internationally, he had led the company to become a quality brand. “Someone in the past called him the Walt Disney of the chair – recalls Tommaso Passoni with emotion – and I like to remember him like that”. During his career, he had received numerous awards on behalf of the brand, including the last one in November directly from the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, as Italian excellence with the Innovation Awards Award.

In addition to his work, Alvise Passoni was also very active in the social field, taking on the role of president of the youth sector of the Centrosedia basketball between the nineties and the early 2000s. The passion for the ball in wedges was born by accompanying his son to matches: «He has always tried to give his contribution. He was a lover of the mountains and for this reason he was among the first members of the Cai di Manzano », adds his son. The entrepreneur also had a great passion for model aircraft, so much so that he created a small airfield in Oleis. “We have often flown our planes together – comments the mayor, Piero Furlani – we have known each other since we were kids. We grew up together”. Alvise Passoni’s funeral will be celebrated on Tuesday 22 June at 5 pm, in the church of Manzano.
