“My idea is that the yellow zone restrictions don’t apply to vaccinated people. Those who have protected themselves, have participated in the vaccination campaign, limit hospitalizations, safeguard the public health system cannot pay a price for which they have no fault, because they have believed in science and in the state ”. This was stated by the president of Friuli Venezia Giulia, Massimiliano Fedriga, on the sidelines of the press conference organized after the meeting with the group leaders of the Senate and Chamber on the critical issues of the National Health Service. Fedriga specified that this is his personal idea, and that the Conference of Regions will meet on Thursday to talk about this too.

«There is a very close risk of passing into the yellow zone for Friuli Venezia Giulia. This obviously worries us in perspective because, I want to remind you, after the yellow zone which has annoying limitations, the orange zone is the next one where economic and working sectors begin to get into difficulty », underlined the president of the Conference of Regions.
Greater freedom for the unvaccinated
«If a territory were to pass of color the vaccinated will have more freedom than the unvaccinated. As far as I am concerned, Friuli Venezia Giulia is experiencing an important moment of infections and hospitalizations, at a level we have a slightly lower participation in the vaccination campaign of over 11 at the national level, 18% of unvaccinated involves 70% of hospitalized. It should also be considered that 30% of vaccinated hospitalized people are mostly elderly or immune depressed and therefore with a lower immune response ”, said the president of the Conference of Regions. “We must protect hospitals – he added – to give an answer to all the other diseases that citizens suffer from. If we had all vaccinated in Friuli Venezia Giulia, we would have halved hospitalization and the yellow zone would be far away ».
The hospitalization parameter works
«The parameter of hospitalizations, which the Conference of Regions wanted precisely by virtue of the vaccine, is working. If the vaccine limits severe disease, our point of view must not look at RT or incidence but at the absorbency of hospitals. If we only had the RT we would have Italy in the red, this very objective parameter has allowed Italy to be in the white zone “, said the governor, responding on the sidelines of the press conference to a question on whether or not to review the parameters for risk zones.
70% hospitalization in Friuli Venezia Giulia
