TREVISO. First fines for lack of green passes in the city. They are the result of the new checks on urban security in the “Tenni” Stadium area: after the sanction on a barber shop in Via Bixio for violating the anti Covid-19 rules on Wednesday afternoon, checks were triggered on a betting center (where situations of gathering had been reported) and a bar.

The commercial unit of the local police of Treviso, together with the emergency department with the help of the anti-drug canine unit, carried out timely checks on compliance with the rules on betting centers and, more generally, preventive action on the whole area. against drug dealing.

Following the checks, some important irregularities emerged, including the lack of a green pass inside the betting room for five out of nine customers present: “The checks are part of an urban safety plan that we are carrying out” explains the commander of the local police of Treviso Andrea Gallo. «Also in the month of August the checks will be punctual and continuous».

Among the irregularities recorded the total coverage of the windows with blackout films that prevent the room from being monitored, a violation that provides for a fine of up to 8000 euros. As part of the various checks, possession of the green pass was also verified: “Only four out of nine customers were found to be in order”, highlights Gallo. «The penalty of 400 euros was raised to the five people without the green pass. The owner will also be sanctioned for failing to check the possession of this document ».

Urban security checks have been extended to a nearby public establishment. The patrons were all identified and some, with a criminal record, reported to the Police Headquarters.

In view of the August 15th weekend, road controls will be further intensified, aimed at combating alcohol abuse and drugs. In fact, night shifts are scheduled until six in the morning to increase preventive safety standards, especially along the traffic routes towards the sea.
