A 56-year-old man, a former boxer, was arrested by the carabinieri in Besana in Brianza, in the province of Monza, for aggravated mistreatment and injuries. The man, convicted of fraud, theft and crimes against the person, in the course of a quarrel out of jealousy with his 57-year-old partner, beat her and broke two ribs.
The woman had asked a friend of the couple to go and retrieve her drunk partner. But, once back in the house, the 56-year-old insulted and attacked her, throwing some objects at her and then punching her. The man was blocked by the arrival of the carabinieri, called by the neighbors.
The woman, who has reported experiencing physical and psychological violence for nearly ten years, was taken to hospital with multiple injuries and fractures and discharged with a 25-day prognosis. The man was arrested and taken to the Monza prison.
