The former coach of the El Salvador National Team, Hugo Pérez, stated that the Government must intervene in Salvadoran soccer so that this sport improves its image, even if FIFA takes a two-year sanction.
«We do not have trained people, so that (major) league has to disappear and the government comes in to help to find 10 sponsors to put up certain money, sponsor the league, then you already put suitable people, studied in finance to look for a contract, sponsorships for players and the league,” said Pérez.
The former coach criticized the leadership for not leaving their positions out of pride, that despite the fact that the prestige of this sport is in the worst condition, the people inside have no initiative to promote it internationally.
