The exchange center for people in economic difficulty will leave Cesa di Limana at the end of the year: “We need a free space to continue our business

TO THE PORT. “Spazio Amico, we are there” is looking for a space. The group, which for over ten years has been engaged in meritorious voluntary work, is looking for a place to carry out its profitable exchange activity, that is, to donate and receive objects and materials of various kinds free of charge for the benefit of many.

Up to now, the activities have taken place at the “Mi a ti, Ti a mi” exchange center in Cesa di Limana thanks to the generosity of the family of Dino Reolon, a local entrepreneur, who gave the premises for free for seven years. Now, however, due to the need for spaces for other uses, there is a need for alternative accommodation, perhaps in the area: “Unfortunately, by the end of the year we will have to leave the premises that will be used for another use”, explains the new president Franca Bogo. “We currently do not benefit from any funding; we are therefore looking for a new suitable location, free of charge, where we can continue our service to the community. It would be a real shame to have to give up on this project which has proved successful thanks to the generosity of the people who have hosted us over the years, whom we thank wholeheartedly, and the willingness of the volunteers, always ready to donate their time and skills. . The Exchange Centers project was born as a network of solidarity and support for families in difficulty. It has been active since 2010, initially financed by the CSV, coordinated by the Ulss and sponsored by the member municipalities of Belluno, Limana, Sedico, Ponte nelle Alpi.

Since 2015, the exchange center has been based, as mentioned, in Cesa di Limana. In the large spaces available, the volunteers collect and redistribute various types of material: clothing for children and adults, childcare equipment, games, books, household items, home textiles.

«The activity is carried out by 14 members / volunteers who over time have also been able to establish cordial relationships with the numerous users of various nationalities. To date, we have users from 22 different countries, as well as local people, ”Bogo emphasizes. «Over the years the business has had a notable development and an increase in users and has proved to be a support to families and individuals, especially in this period. Not least is the aspect of the reuse of the material, which is a resource to be increasingly valued as it is respect and protection for the environment that hosts us “.
