Wednesday at 11:18 a.m., a woman from Vienna (37) drove with her eleven-year-old daughter on a pedal boat on Lake Wörthersee. In the Cap Wörth area in the Villach-Land district, the woman wanted to dock the boat at a jetty. While the daughter had already left the boat and was waiting at the jetty, the mother was busy tying up the boat and briefly took her eyes off the girl.
A few seconds later she realized that her daughter was gone. Several people present immediately searched for the girl. After a few minutes, the eleven-year-old was found by a swimmer at a depth of about two and a half meters in the lake and pulled out of the water without any signs of life.
reanimated
In the meantime, the first rescue workers had already arrived at the scene. After successful resuscitation, the eleven-year-old was flown to the Klagenfurt Clinic. “The girl is currently in critical condition and is being treated in intensive care,” says the hospital.
Search at Loretto
At around 10 a.m. in the morning, a missing swimmer was also being searched for in the Loretto lido in Klagenfurt. A bather sounded the alarm because he had found a bath towel and clothing on the shore. “The fire brigade’s divers were on duty and the police helicopter also flew over the entire area. However, we couldn’t find a missing person,” says Wolfgang Germ from the Klagenfurt fire brigade. The search was eventually called off.
