Governor of Alto Paraná demands “stronger work” from the Prosecutor’s Office and judges to combat the wave of crime

Landy Torres spoke this morning with the commander of the National Police, Carlos Benítez.

The governor of Alto Paraná, César Landy Torres, demanded this Friday (01) “stronger work” between the Prosecutor’s Office and the Judiciary to combat the wave of crime that is plaguing that part of the country. Torres stated that many times the National Police does not have sufficient human resources and that the neighborhoods where the greatest incidents of insecurity are recorded must be covered.

He said that a conversation must be held with the Public Ministry and the Judiciary so that they can support the work of the National Police because many times the police capture people and in “a short time the criminals are on the streets causing anxiety.”

“We need stronger work from the Public Ministry and the judges,” he said this Friday morning. In addition, he commented that there is a fear on the part of the population to go out to work and invest in the department.

He said that he will speak with the deputy prosecutor of the Department of Alto Paraná so that he can speak with the prosecutors and with the president of the Judicial District to speak with the judges.

“This is a team effort, where all the actors have to be involved and the citizens have to feel that, that security is returning to Ciudad del Este,” he expressed.

At 05:30 this Friday, the training of police personnel was carried out at the Alto Paraná Police Directorate where 200 police officers arrived as part of the strengthening of security in the Department of Alto Paraná. The event was attended by the commander of the National Police, Carlos Humberto Benítez González.
