Tourist Trains to Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao Launched in Spring
As the weather warms up, many tourists are taking advantage of the early spring season to embark on unique travel experiences. Since March, a number of distinctive tourist trains have been launched in various locations, offering travelers the opportunity to explore different regions. One of the most popular routes is to Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, allowing visitors to fully immerse themselves in the unique charm of the Greater Bay Area.
On March 13, the Y402 tourist train set off from Linfen City, Shanxi Province, carrying 864 tourists on a 12-day journey to “Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao”. This marks the first tourist train to the region launched by Shanxi Province this year. Interestingly, 90% of the tourists on board are over 60 years old, showcasing the appeal of convenient transportation in the Greater Bay Area.
The tourist train is equipped with 2 soft-sleeper cars, 13 hard-sleeper cars, a dining car, and an air-conditioned generator car. Throughout the 12-day itinerary, travelers will experience a mix of “fast travel and slow travel”, passing by renowned scenic spots in Lushan, Guilin, Xiangtan, and more. Highlights of the trip include visits to the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, Victoria Harbor, West Kowloon Cultural District, Ruins of St. Paul’s, and other famous attractions in Hong Kong and Macao.
Passenger Yuan Suzhen shared her excitement, stating, “Now that I am retired and not too old yet, I just want to go out and see the great mountains and rivers of my motherland. This time we caught up with a special train in Taiyuan, and the environment is very good. We opt for sleeping cars.”
Apart from Shanxi, tourist trains to Hong Kong and Macao are also operating in Beijing, Fuzhou, Xiamen, Inner Mongolia, Harbin, and other cities. Spring outing tours have become a new tourist hotspot following the winter season.
In efforts to enhance transportation options within the Greater Bay Area, several developments have been made. Hong Kong Express recently launched flights to Beijing Daxing International Airport, expanding route options. Additionally, improvements have been made to highways, cross-border passenger transport lines, and railways to facilitate seamless travel between Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao.
With these advancements in transportation infrastructure, visitors can now easily explore the diverse attractions of the Greater Bay Area, creating unforgettable travel experiences for tourists of all ages.
