The accident in the Carnic Alps, in Sella Sissanis: the 60-year-old hit his head and suffered various traumas

OVENS OVERS. Glide on the snow for about 200 meters, under the terrified eyes of your hiking companion. A bad accident occurred on Monday 7 March in the Carnic Alps, with an involuntary protagonist from Udine from 1961: the man fell near Sella Sissanis at an altitude of 1940 meters, in the Carnic Alps. MM, who was in the company of another hiker, slipped downhill on a strip of snow for about two hundred meters, hitting his head and getting a serious injury.

His companion reached him and called Nue112 shortly before 2 pm, staying by his side and preventing him from slipping further until the rescuers arrived.

The recovery of the injured person took place thanks to the intervention of the Suem di Pieve di Cadore helicopter rescue, as the regional emergency helicopter was already engaged in other scenarios. The injured man, who was always conscious but who suffered serious trauma despite not being in danger of life, was transported by helicopter to the Treviso hospital together with his excursion companion, the latter in shock.

For the rescue operations, the Alpine Rescue station of Forni Avoltri was also activated together with the Guardia di Finanza, with a total of seven technicians who waited at the base camp set up at the Forni Avoltri sports field for any support for operations at high altitude.
