The mayor of Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second largest city, said that homes in the city survived a new Russian missile attack on Sunday.
Mayor Ihor Terekhov added in a post on the Telegram application, “He fell near private homes in one of the city’s neighborhoods.” Preliminary information indicates that there were no damages or human losses.”
He wrote in a previous post that Kharkiv was under a missile attack and several explosions were heard.
Oleh Sinyhopov, governor of the Kharkiv region, said on Telegram that Russian S-300 missiles hit the city of Kharkiv twice, and strikes were also recorded in nearby Vovchansk, but no casualties have been reported so far.
Kharkiv and Vovchansk are located near the border with Russia. Moscow promised to respond to Ukrainian missile attacks that recently targeted the Russian city of Belgorod on the border.
