Former party secretary and deputy director of the Guangdong Provincial Taxation Bureau of the State Administration of Taxation, Hu Jinmu, has been expelled from the party following a disciplinary review and supervisory investigation. The investigation revealed serious violations of discipline and law, including collusion, transfer of hidden property, resistance to organizational review, acceptance of banquets and gifts, illegal rental activities, and using authority for personal gain.

Hu Jinmu, as a party member and leading cadre, was found to have deviated from his ideals and beliefs, and engaged in activities that contravened political, organizational, and integrity discipline. He was suspected of bribery and refused to rectify his behavior even after warnings following the 18th National Congress of the Party.

Following deliberation by the Party Committee of the State Administration of Taxation of the Communist Party of China, it was decided to expel Hu Jinmu from the party, confiscate his illegal gains, and transfer his criminal issues to the procuratorate for review and prosecution.

The case highlights the ongoing efforts to tackle corruption and misconduct within the party and serves as a reminder of the consequences of violating party discipline. The investigation was carried out jointly by the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Team of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission in the State Administration of Taxation and the Guangdong Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision.
