Provincial Party Committee Secretary Inspects Road Safety Measures
Huang Kunming, the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, recently visited dangerous road sections, flood-damaged road repair sites, and construction sites in Meizhou to assess the implementation of important instructions from General Secretary Xi Jinping regarding a landslide disaster on the Meizhou-Dalian Expressway.
During his inspection, Huang emphasized the importance of prioritizing road traffic safety, especially during the flood season. He urged local authorities to ensure the safety of people and vehicles by implementing various protective measures and improving road planning, design, construction, maintenance, and management.
Huang also inspected a section of Provincial Highway S223 in Liufang Village, Longwen Town, Meixian District, where landslides had occurred due to heavy rainfall. He encouraged additional measures to strengthen on-duty patrols and ensure the safety of commuters.
Furthermore, Huang visited a soft foundation section of Provincial Highway S223 in Wanxi Village, Songyuan Town, Meixian District, to oversee renovation and reinforcement projects. He focused on high slope protection operations and drainage improvement to eliminate potential safety hazards.
At the construction site of the provincial highway S223 line Songyuan to Yanyang section reconstruction project, Huang stressed the importance of safety in project construction, especially during the flood season. He highlighted the need to prevent geological disaster risks caused by heavy rainfall and strengthen safety protection measures.
Huang also highlighted the increased risk of flash floods and geological disasters due to heavy rainfall in the province. He urged for strict safety measures and thorough disaster prevention efforts to ensure the safety of commuters.
Provincial leader Chen Jianwen also joined the inspection and supervision to reinforce the importance of road safety measures in the province.
