Hugo Ticciati returns to conduct the Camerata Strumentale of Prato

On Thursday 22 February, a special friend of the Prato orchestra returns with the Camerata Strumentale (concert starts at 9pm): Hugo Ticciati, the talented violinist who for some years has set the hearts of the Politeama public on fire, offering memorable concerts every time.

Ticciati continues with this appointment his itinerary around Brahms’ Symphonies, cornerstones of the symphonic repertoire, placing them in dialogue with the music of our time. The Fourth Symphony, the final arrival of Brahms’ orchestral music, is compared here with a work composed in 2021 by Dobrinka Tabakova, a Bulgarian composer trained and living in the United Kingdom. «The patience of trees» is an act of love towards nature portrayed in its four elements, earth, water, fire, air. Composed on commission by Hugo Ticciati, this fascinating score enhances the expressive and technical qualities of the brilliant violinist with whom the Camerata has entered into a multi-year collaboration project.

To open the concert, the Chaconne will be performed which closes the first cantata composed by Bach in 1706, «Nach dir, Herr, verlanget mich» BWV 150. Precisely from this work with which Bach made his debut in church music, Brahms drew the bass that forms the foundation of the last movement of the Fourth Symphony, also conceived in the form of a grandiose Chaconne as a wonderful homage to the founding father of German and European musical civilization.

Before the concert, the 6.45pm Club, the listening guide held by Alberto Batisti on the evening’s program, will be held (free entry) at the Ridotto of the Politeama Theatre.
