In his speech, Benkert recalled that the ABDA drew up a catalog of demands at the beginning of 2023 in which it was clearly stated what is extremely important for a good and safe supply of medicines to the population. “The key point was and is that we need reliable and stable framework conditions in order to be able to provide people with good and safe care, at a time and close to where they live.” The Federal Ministry of Health (BMG) has made adjustments for inflation and costs for almost all other areas of the healthcare system. However, politicians have so far been unwilling to stabilize the economic conditions for pharmacies. Benkert expressed his displeasure about this: “It is incomprehensible to me and incomprehensible that it should not be possible for pharmacies to adequately compensate them for their services, but also for the enormously increased costs associated with them.”
