According to information provided by the Popayán Prosecutor’s Office, a man apparently shot the cat while it was playing on the roof of one of the neighbors’ houses.
The animal would have been hit by bullets, killing it, which generated the repudiation of animalists who demanded a strong hand from the authorities.
For this fact, the man was denounced and the man was charged with the crime of animal abuse, but this was not accepted by the judicial bodies.
The man had been captured by the Environmental Police and had been prosecuted.
The Payanese authorities announced that at least five people have been captured in this town for animal abuse and indicated that activities are being carried out to prevent this type of action in order to make people aware of the ownership of animals. .
