The governor of Meta, Rafaela Cortés Zambrano, led the first Departmental Risk Management Council, in order to evaluate the actions that have been deployed, in an articulated manner, to address vegetation cover fires in the department.
Official figures report that, so far this year, the municipalities affected by forest fires have been: Puerto López, San Martín, San Carlos de Guaroa, La Macarena, San Juan de Arama, Fuentedeoro, Puerto Gaitán, Uribe, Granada, Puerto Lleras, Barranca de Upía and Villavicencio.

Meanwhile, the departmental director for Meta Disaster Risk Management, Lina Herrera, said that so far this year, actions have been carried out aimed at establishing coordination between operational entities, activating the national crisis room for the Disaster Phenomenon. Niño, monitoring of vegetation cover fires with civil aeronautics and activation of the permanent PMU as a measure to face the El Niño Phenomenon, among others.
The Department remains on alert in the face of the dry season which is already causing effects in others in other regions.
