After the terrorist attack in the city of Kerman, the Iranian secret service arrested nine suspects. The Iranian state agency Irna reported on Friday, based on a communication from the secret services, that the arrests due to the double suicide bombing were carried out in seven provinces. The suspects are said to have been part of a network that supported the perpetrators.

More bomb belts were found during a raid on the home of the two suicide bombers in Kerman, the secret service says. One of the two had Tajik nationality. The information provided by the Iranian secret service cannot be independently verified.

At least 89 people were killed and approximately 280 people were injured in Wednesday’s attack. The terrorist group IS claimed responsibility for the attack. The attack happened during the commemoration of the death of Iranian general Qassem Soleimani in his home city. The Sunni IS views the Shiite majority in Iran as apostates from Islam and despises them.
