The Israeli government has voted unanimously to shut down the Qatari pan-Arab network al-Jazeera with immediate effect.
Due to censorship, information on what is happening in Gaza and other districts will not reach Palestinians: journalists from the station have died trying to bring images of the massacre by the Israeli army in the Strip into their homes, costing almost 35 thousand deaths, of which a third children.
On several occasions, al-Jazeera journalists had come into possession of videos showing actual war crimes carried out by Israeli soldiers, including the execution of civilians who had nothing to do with Hamas.
A-Jazeera condemned the Israeli government’s decision as a “criminal act”, warning that the suppression of the free press is in conflict with international and humanitarian law.
The main reason the Israeli Prime Minister acted this way is to hide the genocide he is perpetuating in the Gaza Strip.
Netanyahu’s decision came a few days after Parliament approved a law that allows the temporary closure of foreign broadcasters considered a threat to national security.
They are X Netanyahu wrote that “The government led by me has decided unanimously: the incitement channel al-Jazeera will be closed in Israel.”
