Ivrea, more than 50 skipped races: students left on foot. Eporediese in suffering

Problems in particular for the 3 San Germano (Borgofranco) -Pavone, there are those who have been forced to use a taxi. The protests of the mayors

IVREA. More than fifty skipped races in Ivrea and in the Eporediese, with particular suffering of the 3 San Germano (Borgofranco) -Pavone line. Students left on foot in Burolo, San Giovanni, Bellavista.

The cases are all in the conurbation of the Eporediese which, unlike the Alto Canavese, is serving this beginning of the school year in an important way.

In these days many are reporting the inconveniences to Gtt which, in part, had already announced them on the pages of the Sentinel. According to the company, it is all due to the chronic shortage of staff, which means that a simple and legitimate illness of a driver can upset the entire work plan.

On the citizen Facebook group “Sei di Ivrea se …”, there is a post that has become a receptacle for reports. And it is succinct: «Fourth day of school, second day without a bus. The first does not pass, the second too full does not stop ». «Chiaverano, for three days in a row the 2B line did not pass – writes another user -, which arrives in town at 13.30. Considering that there is one run per hour it is quite a mess. I have already written to GTT which of course did not reply ».

The experiences, however, do not stop there. «Disaster, yesterday from Burolo to Ivrea – explains another – with GTT bus it took me more than 3 hours. At 3 pm it does not pass, at 4 pm it does not pass. I went to the Bollengo stop at 4.30 pm it does not pass. At 4.50 pm I had to call a taxi because at 5.00 pm I had to take the child to San Bernardo ».

As often happens, the citizen Facebook group becomes the citizens’ outlet. And to say that the councilor for transport Giuliano Balzola had promised a hard fist with GTT, now more than two months ago, asking the Piedmontese Mobility Agency to activate the procedure to sanction the company for skipped races, a procedure that, had underlined the regional councilor Marco Gabusi, provides for fines from 500 to 10 thousand euros for each bus that does not pass. To date, however, it is all a dead letter and the service of Ivrea and the Ivrea conurbation has certainly not improved.

“In recent days – explains the mayor of Bollengo Luigi Riccia – I made a report with the unions by writing to the Agency and Gtt, it is a situation that cannot continue like this”. «Citizens – echoes Endro Bevolo, mayor of Pavone – do not use them much and lately they haven’t complained to me, but it is a situation we are aware of and which is not sustainable. Paths should be rethought, not just frequency ».
