Ecuadorian cyclist Jonathan Narváez dressed in pink at the Giro d’Italia and took the lead from the start. In an exciting final sprint, Narváez overtook the Slovenian Tadej Pogacar, considered one of the best cyclists in the world.
With a minimal advantage and a very tight distance, the native of Tulcán crossed the finish line with his arms raised, wearing the colors yellow, blue and red.
This victory, which occurred in the first stage of the competition, is a great achievement for Narváez and his team, the INEOS Grenadiers. Throughout the 140 kilometer course in Turin, the Ecuadorian demonstrated an impressive performance from start to finish.
