Among the proposals presented by Parra Torres is strengthening the service portfolio of the Graduate Office of the University of Cauca.

On February 28 of the current year, the election of the Graduate Representative will be held, for the period 2024-2026, before the Superior Council of the University of Cauca, through the Institutional System (SIVOT).

For this reason, the political scientist José Fernando Parra Torres aspires to represent the Graduates, whose resumes he puts up for consideration and asks them to support his proposals. Those who are registered and duly authorized to exercise their vote may vote.

Parra Torres graduated in May 2006, with the degree work: “Analysis of the Public Tourism Policy in the city of Popayán, in the period 2000 and 2005”, which has served as input for the formulation of the Ordinance. departmental of Cauca and municipal tourism policies. She is a Tourism Guide, with a Professional Card and National Tourism Registry, graduated from the Sena, with more than 25 years of experience. He obtained a scholarship to pursue a diploma as a Cultural Manager, with the Cultural Industries of Cauca project and the University of Barcelona, ​​and began master’s studies in History at the University of Cauca.

In the work field, he has served as executive director of the Colombian Hotel Association (Cotelco-Cauca); tourism and cultural consultant, with the Cauca Cultural Industries Project; Instructor in Tourist Guidance on the Seine; workshop leader in tourism quality processes with Comfacauca; formulator of tourism projects with Fontur; teacher on cultural heritage topics, tourist geography, group management and various aspects related to tourism. He has been an instructor in the training processes of Heritage Watchers. Since 1992 he has been linked to the Guillermo Valencia Museum, where he works as a weekend guide, a guide with administrative functions and since 2009, as Cultural Manager. Likewise, he coordinated the Cauca Museum Network for 7 years, and is currently its delegate to the National Museum Board, representative of the museums of southern Colombia, and to the National Museum Council. In the political field, he served as councilor of Commune 1 and has participated in social processes with Community Action Boards.

In 1999 he joined the University Pastoral Committee, which founded the Julia Chaux de Rojas hostel, where he currently holds the presidency.

He belongs to the Association of Tourist Guides of Cauca and the Citizen Oversight of the Historical and Natural Heritage of Popayán (VEER).

Articulation with the Strategic Plan of the University of Cauca and the Bicentennial Plan 2027. Help strengthen the service portfolio of the Graduate Office of the University of Cauca. Offer graduates services in the Alma Mater libraries, with the guarantee of being able to borrow books. Discounts for admission to the Alma Mater sports facilities and museums. That graduates can participate in cultural training processes, contributing to the development of society, through actions that improve artistic and cultural skills, addressing multiculturalism. Lower the value of the graduate card. That graduates can count on the services of the legal office, regardless of their social stratum. Articulation with the Cauca Trade and Business Council, to offer job guarantees to graduates. Lead the implementation of processes aimed at social and solidarity work, with the least favored people in the city. Support the carrying out of activities that promote the sense of belonging to the tourist and cultural heritage of the department of Cauca. Strengthen entrepreneurial processes and provide respective advice to graduates to achieve business creation.
