The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs, Josep Borrell, who previously attended the Ukraine-EU summit in Kyiv, said the other day that the occupying country “has already lost the war against Ukraine”, although he admitted that “Kyiv has not won yet”.
“This is a bloody war, but Russia has already lost this war. Ukraine has not yet won, but Russia has clearly suffered a military defeat.” he said at the European Summit on Defense and Security in Brussels, writes El Mundo.
Borrell emphasized that the Russian army “was defeated” because it failed in its attempt to capture Kyiv “in a couple of weeks” and because it failed to take the city of Bakhmut. The Spanish politician also urged to be careful and not “to divide the world into the West and the rest”because Russia “I would be very happy”if she could say that “the rest of the world” is on her side.
“Many people do not condemn Russia strongly enough. They voted against Russia in the United Nations, but then I hear some world leaders who do not strongly enough condemn Russian aggression against Ukraine.” – he said.
Meanwhile, the USA announced a new package of military aid to Ukraine.
