Judge rejects revocation and orders to examine Jorge Glas’ devices seized at the Mexican Embassy – DIARIO CRONICA

Former Vice President Jorge Glas requested the revocation of the authorization to examine his electronic devices, which were seized at the Mexican Embassy. However, his request was rejected by the co-judge of the National Court of Justice, Julio César Inga.

Glas’ devices, which include two mobile phones and a tablet, were confiscated on April 5 during the raid on the Mexican Embassy in Quito, where Glas was detained. These devices will be subjected to expert analysis by the Prosecutor’s Office, a measure requested by the deputy attorney general, Wilson Toainga. After his arrest, Glas’s devices were delivered to the Criminalistics Evidence and Indicia Collection Center of the National Police in Quito, following the chain of custody.

Judge Inga dismissed the revocation request, arguing that these issues should be addressed at the “evaluation and trial preparation” stage. Both the Prosecutor’s Office and the State Attorney General’s Office asked the judge to reject Glas’ request.
