In the development of a joint and coordinated operation between the Colombian Navy, the National Army and the National Police, three alleged members of the “Pacífico” substructure of the Clan del Golfo were captured, in the department of Chocó.

During a river checkpoint of the Marine Infantry Battalion No.23 of the Colombian Navy, assigned to the Joint Task Force “Titán”, at the mouth of the estuary that leads to the airport in the municipality of Juradó, three subjects who mobilized in a boat did not heed the call of the authorities for verification and attacked the troops with firearms. In the defensive reaction of the Marines, one of the men was injured, who fell into the river while the other two men fled.

The military personnel rescued and provided first aid to the injured man, who was taken to the Juradó hospital, where he is receiving medical attention. Immediately, the lock plan was activated at the docks of the municipal seat, which led to the capture of alias ‘Candonga’ and alias ‘Muerte’, who had in their possession three packages with cocaine hydrochloride and a package of marijuana. During the search of the area with National Police personnel, a revolver and six cartridges were found, which the subjects had previously thrown away when they fled from the troops.

Alias ​​’Candonga’ and alias ‘Muerte’ would be members of the Clan del Golfo and would have an extensive criminal record and criminal proceedings in the department of Chocó, for the alleged crimes of homicide, manufacturing, trafficking, carrying or possession of firearms, accessories , parts or ammunition.

According to the investigations, after the capture of alias ‘El Perro’, alias ‘Candonga’ would have been named as the visible leader of the criminal component focused on Juradó, in charge of extortion of the different unions and micro-trafficking in the area.
