Korea Investment & Securities, a subsidiary of Korea Financial Holdings, announced on the 15th that it would newly list 368 equity warrant securities (ELW) (item numbers 57JB50 ~ 57JF17).
Listed items are 137 index-type ELW items with KOSPI 200 and KOSDAQ 150 as underlying assets and 231 item-type ELW items with Samsung Electronics, LG Energy Solutions, and SK Hynix as underlying assets.
ELW is a product that trades the right to buy and sell individual stocks or stock indexes at a pre-determined price on the maturity date. If the underlying asset is expected to rise, call ELWs and if declines are expected, put ELWs can be purchased to obtain profit opportunities unrelated to market conditions.
However, unlike stocks, there is a price (exercise price) that the underlying asset must reach until maturity, so if the price of the underlying asset does not move in the originally expected direction, a loss of up to the entire principal amount may occur at maturity.
In order to trade ELW, it is necessary to diagnose investment propensity and complete investor education in advance. In addition, new customers must meet the basic deposit of at least 15 million won.
