La Jornada – Sheinbaum meets with US Republican congressmen

Claudia Sheinbaum, Morena’s presidential candidate, held a meeting with US congressmen from the Republican Party on Monday, along with US ambassador to Mexico, Ken Salazar. The meeting revolved around discussions on the future of relations between Mexico and the United States.

Taking to social media, Sheinbaum expressed her appreciation for the invitation to meet with Ambassador Ken Salazar, as well as congressmen Tony Gonzales, Randy Weber, and Michael McCaul. The Morena member also shared a photograph from the meeting. Salazar, on the other hand, refrained from elaborating on the topics discussed, but expressed his honor in receiving the congressional delegation in Mexico City.

On the same day, Sheinbaum also released a new episode of her podcast, “We climb to the top,” in which she spoke with chemist and mother, Nancy Tapia. The episode featured a conversation about their lives, with Tapia asking Sheinbaum if she would change any decisions from her youth. Sheinbaum responded by expressing her satisfaction with her life, although acknowledging the presence of mistakes that have shaped her journey.

This series of events showcases Sheinbaum’s engagement with both domestic and international affairs, alongside her efforts to connect with the public through her podcast. With the presidential election approaching, these interactions are likely to contribute to the public’s perception of her readiness and vision for Mexico’s future.
