The continuous rains and instability on the slopes generated more than four landslides today on the Quibdó-El Carmen de Atrato road. A landslide in the area of kilometer 17, Las Toldas, buried several dozen people when they were taking shelter in a home and in several vehicles.
At 10 pm it was reported that 17 bodies of deceased people and 25 injured people had been rescued.
The search for missing people continues.
Firefighters, police, army and rescue units are present at the site. There are more than one hundred dammed vehicles. A landslide was also reported in the Ichó River.
