Livinallongo, the Pieve square gets a new look. The works in the Val de Hotel have been restarted

The works started in the square in Pieve di Livinallongo and on the right the construction sites reopened from val del Hotel for the construction of the parking lot

Spring of construction sites in Fodom. Bulldozers in action also at Alfauro on the Cordevole bank

LIVINALLONGO. In Livinallongo spring of works on squares, streams and parking lots. With the return of the summer, several construction sites were opened and reopened for interventions financed by the border mutual fund and by contributions for the restoration of the damage caused by the Vaia storm.

NEW LOOK FOR THE SQUARE

In the in recent days the small square in front of the Cesa de Comun and the parish church has been completely cordoned off the start of the redevelopment works of what should be the good living room of the capital.

The project, financed by the Border Common Fund, envisages, among other things, the reconstruction of the small access path between the bell tower and the town hall. The current cobblestone, in fact, becomes treacherous in case of rain and creates infiltrations in the rooms of the adjacent technical office.

On the other hand, five parking spaces will disappear from the square in front of the monument to the fallen of the two world wars, where the pavement will be replaced with a two-colored pavement, and the area will become pedestrian only. The steps next to the monument to Catherine Lánz will also be removed. The intervention will be completed with the installation of a hydrant and the new lighting.

CORDEVOLE HARNESSED AT ALFAURO

On the Cordevole torrent in Alfauro, on the outskirts of Arabba, work is being carried out on the construction of a long stretch of river banks with cyclopean boulders. The works, in the hands of the regional forest services and carried out by Dolomiti Strade, are part of a larger project of three hydraulic-forestry interventions, for a total amount of one million 300 thousand euros. The other two interventions are planned near Sot Varda and on the Ru Daghé at the confluence with the Cordevole.

These are projects financed with Vaia post-storm funds to prevent the risk of flooding in the event of floods. In particular, in the stretch of the Cordevole torrent between Arabba and Alfauro, this is the fourth construction site opened in three years to harness the torrent and thus secure the roads and surrounding towns. Between 2020 and 2021, with two distinct projects, for a total cost of 500 thousand euros, Forestry Services and the Municipality of Livinallongo intervened to reinforce and extend the concrete embankments on the confluence with the Rio Boé, near the town center. and on Rio Boé itself, just above the first houses; also here to increase resilience and safety in the event of floods. The same intervention with gigantic boulders also in the vicinity of the Evaldo Hotel.

Also in Alfauro, in 2020, with an extremely urgent intervention costing 380 thousand euros, sections of the banks damaged by the flood at the end of October 2018 were rebuilt and the bed of the stream was emptied of accumulated material, to avoid floods that could have endangered the nearby purification plant in the Renaz district.

THE PARK IN VAL DEL HOTEL IS RESTARTED

In Pieve the works for the realization of the Park of Val de Hotel, on the outskirts of the town, have restarted. A construction site that has been dragging on for the past four years, stopped for two due to the discovery of a military device. About seventy new parking spaces will be created plus some for motorcycles.
