LORENZAGO. Six months of silence. As if Angelo Mainardi were still alive and could be seen in front of the door of his house in via Riva, in Lorenzago. On the other hand, the nice and hard-working “Mascute” has been gone since early December last year. A robbery worth 200 euros, in a night of wolves, by three masked Italian individuals and, after a few hours, the death of heartbreak. The autopsy doesn’t really say that, but that’s the meaning. His family members do not give up: if at first they had placed themselves in the hands of the Carabinieri of the Company of Cortina, now they have equipped themselves with the lawyer Giulia Munerin.

For some time now, the filing of the open file for robbery, injury and death as a result of another crime, between the office of the public prosecutor Alberto Primavera and that of the reference judge for preliminary investigations, has been taking place, because there would not be a single image shot in that snowy night (strange, really). And the testimonies of those who were at a party at the Cooperative bar or at dinner at the Trieste hotel would not have helped the preliminary investigations. The lawyer has received a mandate to access the documents and file an opposition to the filing, at the appropriate time.

«Nobody tells us anything», complains Paola Vecellio, Mainardi’s daughter-in-law, also known for being the manager of the Oltrepiave 98 football team, «after Angelo’s death, no one felt they had to tell us something about the story. When the television lights went out, we fell into oblivion and unfortunately we have the feeling that the judiciary wants to dismiss. There are too many signs that go in this direction and we can’t get over it ».

On live television, the Ampezzo captain Stefano Biasone had said that “we are verifying the veracity of what happened”. A formula, which among the carabinieri means one thing and another among journalists, so much so that Milo Infante of the show Ore 14 had asked for explanations: “We thought about it too,” admits Vecellio, “Angelo had signs on his wrists , because he had been tied up with ropes and banged against the wall on the sofa. He was 82 and was unable to walk smoothly, let alone if he would have been able to put on a staging. He was mistreated and robbed and, six months later, we still have no certainty. We await an official communication from the Prosecutor’s Office, after which we will take our initiatives ».
