A 36-year-old man was arrested in the London suburb of Hainault on Tuesday after attacking people with a sword. A 13-year-old boy died and several people were injured.

Police were called in the morning to a vehicle that had crashed into a house in Hainault, a residential area east of London. There were reports of people being stabbed in that incident. Witnesses say they saw the attacker carrying a “huge sword.” One person heard someone shout “she was stabbed in the face.”
When police arrived on the scene, the suspect also attacked two officers. 22 minutes after the call, officers managed to arrest the man. “A man with a sword was arrested at the scene,” police said.

Five people were taken to hospital. A 13-year-old boy died in hospital from his injuries. The condition of the other victims is not yet clear.
According to the police, there is no terrorism involved in the incident. “Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident. Extra patrols are being carried out in the area,” said Mayor of London Sadiq Khan. The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom also responded via X.
