Meetings continue with businessman Tulio Gómez, in which the viability of four projects is analyzed.

About the possibility of developing four projects in Popayán, Mayor Juan Carlos Muñoz Bravo has been speaking with the businessman, politician and largest shareholder of Club América de Cali, Tulio Gómez.

For the second time, Gómez visited Popayán, where he attended a work day and expressed his interest in investing in the Acopio center, Zero Waste, Manzana 99 (Old Anarkos shopping center) and professional football.

According to information from the Mayor’s Office of Popayán, in said meeting progress was made regarding what the planning and structuring of said projects should be.

According to Gómez, to make the Collection Center a reality it is necessary to structure a company or fund that allows the elimination of intermediaries so that the farmer can sell his products directly and receive cash payment for them. A strategy for replacing illicit crops is also proposed, with the support of the National Army, for the delivery of seeds and seedlings to farmers, who would then be guaranteed the marketing of their products.

Regarding professional football, and after visiting the Ciro López stadium, it was concluded that the first step is to adapt this sports scenario so that it meets the requirements stipulated by Dimayor.

For his part, Mayor Juan Carlos Muñoz Bravo said that “people with experience, people who are connected to the Colombian soccer emporium, should be invited, they can teach us what should be done, the message “It is a union between clubs, businessmen and governments to achieve the objective.”

Regarding Zero Waste, the aim is to use waste, for this purpose to create a culture of recycling and market the material or transform it, for example, into paving stones for construction. “The waste that comes out of the kitchen can also be transformed into compost for soil recovery, allowing fertile and usable land for planting,” said the businessman.

Regarding Manzana 99, the most complex project, in dialogue with representatives of the co-owners, the need to carry out a soil analysis to define the feasibility of the projects was discussed, since the option of building a shopping center that respect the parameters of the historic area, but also give projection and commercial dynamism to the place, even contemplating the possibility of a terrace for restaurants.
