ROMA – The pandemic slows down and the weekly monitoring data confirms the trend of the last few days. Iss and the Ministry of Health explain that the decline in RT and the incidence of Covid-19 cases continues.

The weekly incidence at the national level in fact drops to 672 per 100 thousand inhabitants (11/02/2022 -17/02/2021) against 962 the previous week. The mean Rt calculated on symptomatic cases was instead equal to 0.77, a decrease compared to the previous week when it was equal to 0.89 and below the epidemic threshold.

The hospitals

The reduction in hospitalizations for Covid continues. Weekly monitoring indicates that the intensive care occupancy rate is 10.4% (daily survey as of February 17) compared to 13.4% the previous week. The employment rate in medical areas nationwide is 22.2% (survey as of 10 February) against 26.5% seven days earlier.

The colors of the Regions

There are two Regions / Autonomous Provinces classified at high risk “due to the impossibility of evaluation due to the incompleteness of the data sent”. Five Regions are classified at moderate risk. The remaining 14 Regions / Autonomous Provinces are classified as low risk. Finally, 12 Regions / Autonomous Provinces report at least one single resilience alert and two Regions report multiple resilience alerts.

Tracking

The percentage of Covid-19 cases detected through contact tracing is slightly down: 17% compared to 18% last week. The percentage of cases detected through the appearance of symptoms also decreased (31% compared to 33%), while the percentage of cases diagnosed through screening activities increased (52% compared to 48%).
