Montebelluna, the head of pulmonology is retiring, but will help the ward as a volunteer

This is Riccardo Drigo, Ulss 2 has started the procedures for the appointment of his replacement

MONTEBELLUNA. Riccardo Drigo, the head of the pulmonology department of the San Valentino hospital, has retired and Ulss 2 has started the procedures for the appointment of the new head. It was Riccardo Drigo who started, again in 2012, and until a few days ago, he headed the Pneumology department of the Montebelluna hospital, which then found himself on the front line to deal with the various waves of the pandemic.

As a retiree, however, Riccardo Drigo will still be present in the ward that had him as primary: he has in fact given his willingness to be present as a volunteer a couple of days a week at Ulss 2 Pneumology, a precious availability given the shortage situation of pulmonologists.

This summer, the Democratic Party raised the alarm about the “holes” in the Valentine’s Day primary. He launched it in the city council, with a question to the mayor, the city councilor Silvio Tessari, who asked “which initiatives the administration intends to take and involve the municipalities of Montebellunese to have a greater weight towards the Ulss and the Region” . The primary careers of anesthesia and surgery were vacant, while Drigo’s retirement was already announced.

«With this difficult situation it is problematic to be attractive even towards young doctors who want to come and work in our hospital. Because young doctors go where they can gain experience, where the operating theaters are active, where cardiology includes all the various specialties and in this situation they avoid the Montebelluna hospital ».
